1. Loose Connection
The easiest leak to fix is a loose connection at the base of the toilet. Shut off the water and flush while holding the handle, making sure the water has completely drained from the tank. Install the new wax ring on the flange and press it into place. Reconnect the closet bolts and align the toilet onto the holes in the base. Press down firmly to create a seal with the new wax ring.
Replace the washers, nuts, and caps and tighten. Finally, reconnect the water supply and turn the water on.
